Fun Free(ish) Events in the East Bay this weekend. This week I am super excited about the Annual Cherry Festival in San Leandro. I grew up in San Leandro so this is close to my ❤️ and still local. Though we may not grow Cherry trees anymore…its tradition!

The San Leandro Cherry Festival is a long-standing San Leandro tradition celebrating the city’s past, present and future. The Cherry Festival offers attendees the option to partake in food, a beer garden serving local craft beers, live entertainment, handmade arts and crafts, a special Fun Zone with rides and games, a parade (beginning at 10 am), a farmer’s market, community and city resources, and an Art and Innovation Zone.
First Annual Downtown Hayward Latin Jazz Festival. (1-7pm) Downtown Hayward, B st. and Main St. Free event, Food Vendors, Arts & Crafts, Beer and wine…and of course live music by some of the Bay Areas’ favorites.
Bats and Brews (7-9pm) Take a taste bud tour of the world of beer and meet some Bay Area bats at Sulphur Creek. Beer is universal; every culture knows beer and every culture is proud to boast that its brew is the best on earth. Civilized people all over the world brew and enjoy truly great beers, but could it be possible that beer is responsible for civilization as we know it? This is $45 per person and open to 21+ only.

Have you driven by the McConaghy House on Hesperian Blvd for years? McConaghy House is open on the first weekend of the month from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM (except January). Tours start at the top of the hour. Last tour starts at 3:00 PM.
