East Bay Events for June 28, 29 and 30, 2019

Fun Free(ish) Events in the East Bay this weekend.  This week I am super excited about Summer in the Plaza.  It is a great way to get out and hang out with the people of Hayward!  I think that events that bring families and the community together are AWESOME!

2019 Summer in the Plaza: Hotel Transylvania 3  (5pm-end of movie)  Bring out the whole family for this beloved summer event!   Summer in the Plaza is a free admission event that features:
Dessert samples from Charlotte’s and Rita’s, Story time, Free books, Kittens from the animal shelter, A Jumpy house
Face painting, An ambulance to explore and more!
Activities begin at 5 p.m. | Movie starts at 8:15 p.m.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket.
Free Parking is available across the street from Hayward City Hall in the Watkins Street Garage.

The Hayward Farmers Market is located on Watkins, between B and C Streets, next to Hayward City Hall Plaza. For more than 20 years, the farmers market in Hayward has been the place for the local community to get their fill of fresh, healthy, locally grown fruits and vegetables. The Hayward Farmers Market is open every Saturday, year-round, rain or shine, from 9am to 1pm.

Tri-City Street Fair (9 am – 4pm) at Ohlone College,  43600 Mission Boulevard, Fremont, CA, parking Lot G.  An open-air market featuring local artisans, businesses, artists, and organizations from the Bay Area! This family friendly event has something for everyone—from clothing, to keepsakes, arts & crafts, to delicious food and drinks with a dedicated kid zone including a bouncy house, face painting, and free workshops. Bring your furry friends along with you as we’ll be offering a gated dog park on site as well! As an extension of the Ohlone College Campus attendees will also have a unique opportunity to learn about Ohlone College, the Ohlone for Kids program, community education classes, and more. One hundred percent of the revenue generated through the sales of our vendor spaces goes directly to supporting Ohlone College programs that impact students—by supporting local vendors, you’re also supporting your own community college students. Come and support local businesses and organizations and have some family fun! Admission and parking for this event is FREE.

Red, White & Blue Pet Adoption Event Swing by the FREE popcorn, grab a 4th of July pet tip sheet and learn about renting with pets. Plus myths and facts about Pitt Bulls.   All Adult Pet Adoptions FREE to qualified homes, sponsored by SantaCon Hayward.*  All Kittens, puppies, small animals reduced $20 adoption fee* to qualified homes sponsored by Hayward Animal Shelter Volunteers.

*Does not include $17 Dog license fee for Hayward City residents

Newark Farmers Market @ Newpark Mall, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. every Sunday

Go to the Fair! Alameda County Fair Everyday (closed Mondays!) through July 7th (Next Sunday!!!).  Check out the website for concerts, ticket prices, FREE days, vendors and so much more.   I will definitely be there one day!  Tickets Required.
